Leader of Scottish Independence Movement Quits After an embarrassing defeat at the voting booth on Thursday, Scotland's first minister, Alex Salmond of the Scottish National Party, is resigning. In a speech on Friday, Salmond declared, "For me as leader my time is nearly over but for Scotland the campaign continues and the dream shall never die." He also warned that Scots should already be wary as he believes British Prime Minister David Cameron is already reneging on promises made to voters if Scotland voted to stay in the union. Read it at The Daily Beast SICK 4. 8 Ebola Workers Killed 'in Cold Blood' At least eight journalists and Ebola aid workers in Guinea were killed by villagers who then dumped their bodies in a latrine. The murders are the first deadly example of an increasing distrust among the local population about Westerners. The individuals were "killed in cold blood by the villagers," a spokesman for the Guinean government said Thursday. Those attacked included administrators, medical officers, a preacher, and three journalists. They were attacked by a stone-throwing mob as they visited the village to do disinfection work and educate the local populace. Frat Allegedly Marked Roofie Victims With Red Xs Police are investigating a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee fraternity for an alleged scheme in which its members developed a system for putting date-rape drugs into women's drinks. According to police, females were given color-coded Xs on their hands when they walked in to TKE fraternity, and three women who had red Xs were hospitalized. A man who drank from a red X'd woman's cup was also hospitalized. The chapter has been suspended by the university. That same fraternity was investigated last year for three sexual-assault reports, but no charges were filed.
