SMOKING GUN

There's one man, some Republicans say, who kept the public from learning about the chemical-weapon shells littered around Iraq: Karl Rove. Eli Lake reports that George W. Bush's top political adviser told lawmakers who were told about old weapons of mass destruction in Iraq to "let these sleeping dogs lie."

PRETTY TRICKY

Maram Susli calls ISIS an American puppet, compares Nazis to Zionists—and is quickly gaining a global following, including one of MIT's most storied professors. Noah Shachtman and Michael Kennedy talk to @Partisangirl.

SEA SICK

Two Dallas health workers have already fallen ill with Ebola, but another who may have had contact with the disease is now on a cruise ship. The unnamed employee of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, where a Liberian man named Thomas Duncan died, has agreed to be kept in an isolated cabin on the ship, which is in Belize, where authorities are refusing to allow a passenger evacuation. The employee didn't have direct contact with Duncan, but may have been in contact with clinical specimens. On Thursday, 75 hospital employees were asked to sign legal documents agreeing not to go to public places or use mass transit.

READY SET GO

Ready to fight Ebola in Africa? The U.S. military will give soldiers just four hours of training to do it. Tim Mak discovers that as America rushes into West Africa, soldiers are receiving on-the-fly instructions on how to protect themselves against the deadly virus.

GET OUT

ISIS is being forced out of town, according to Kurdish fighters in Kobani, Syria. The militants had taken the Syrian city, but 14 U.S. airstrikes over the past two days have now hit their key positions. According to reports, at least 19 ISIS buildings and 10 other strategic targets have been bombed. Kurdish forces say ISIS still controls a few key buildings, including the hospital.
