The head of Germany's domestic intelligence agency has said in a newspaper interview that a recently-banned Salafist organization is seeking to set up a German language outpost in the Middle East instead.

Huawei rejects US security threat claims
Huawei has denied US Congress claims that it poses a security threat on American soil. Congress is due to call for top Chinese telecoms giants to be barred from the US amid espionage concerns.

German Book Prize goes to Ursula Krechel
The 2012 German Book Prize has been awarded to the Berlin-based author Ursula Krechel for her novel 'Landgericht.' The German writer beat out five other authors whose works had made it onto this year's shortlist.
