Mills told reporters Tuesday evening that he isn't sure of his daughter Lindsay's whereabouts—though he has been in touch with her via text message—or Snowden's. "I know more from your reports than from anywhere else," he said. Mills described Snowden, who had been dating his daughter for about four or five years, as "very nice—shy, reserved," and said of his whistleblowing, "He's always had strong convictions right along, and it kind of made sense, but it's still a shock." Wildfires Rage Across Colorado Raging wildfires have prompted a mandatory evacuation order for about 5,000 homes across 24,000 acres in Colorado. "Complacency is a dangerous gamble," El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa said, and noted that some people were ignoring the evacuation order, while others were having a hard time getting out of their homes. "We have some folks that were having difficulty. We are focused on our elderly population that may have difficulty moving and people trying to move animals out. It has gone from an evac to somewhat of a search and rescue." Over 150 firefighters alongside members of the National Guard were sent to take on the flames, which had burned at least 7,500 acres by Tuesday night. Despite promises that police would not attempt to remove people from the square, the overnight clashes came after Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan ordered an end to the nearly two weeks of demonstrations that evolved from an environmental crusade to save a beloved park into an anti-government protest. As of Monday, the protests have sent 4,947 people to the hospital for a variety of injuries, and four people—including a police officer—have died.
