Guess who's coming for coffee? -- President Obama recently talked to Rev. Wright. Or not -- Casey campaigns ... finally -- Romney-Biden 4 life -- "The Lizard King" quote of the day -- Poll of the Day: Ohio is close | 1.) Guess who's coming for coffee? -- If you're in the White House, perhaps an American friend of the terrorist group Hamas. TheDC's Neil Munro reports:
"White House visitor records show that administration officials have hosted numerous White House meetings with a series of U.S.-based Muslim political groups that have close ties to jihadi groups and push to reduce anti-terrorism investigations. The visits were discovered by the Investigative Project on Terrorism, which compared the Obama White House’s visitor records with its database of Islamist advocacy groups. For example, the records show that officials from the Council on American Islamic Relations have visited the White House 20 times, according to the organization’s report. Members of CAIR were invited to the White House, even though an April 2009 FBI statement said the bureau 'does not view CAIR as an appropriate liaison partner' because of its ties to the Hamas jihadi group."
This shouldn't be too hard: You don't get an invite to the president's house if you excuse terrorism, or worse, if you are part of a group so radical the FBI won't even meet with you. Period. End of sentence. | 2.) President Obama recently talked to Rev. Wright. Or not -- TheDC's Neil Munro reports on a conversation that did or did not happen:
"Willie Brown, the former mayor of San Francisco, reported Saturday that President Barack Obama held a semi-secret conference call with the racist preacher Jeremiah Wright and other ministers last weekend to boost African-American turnout. But Obama for America campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith denied it flatly to The Daily Caller on Sunday. 'It is not true,' Smith, the campaign’s rapid-response director, wrote in an email to TheDC."
Something smells fishy. Why would Brown just make something like that up? | 3.) Casey campaigns ... finally -- Looks like incumbent Sen. Bob Casey has decided to shift his re-election strategy from phoning his re-election in to actually acknowledging he has an opponent. TheDC's Alexis Levinson reports:
"The under the radar Pennsylvania Senate race has suddenly come to life, with Democratic incumbent Sen. Bob Casey jumping onto the campaign trail as polls show Republican challenger Tom Smith closing in on him. On Tuesday, a Quinnipiac poll showed Casey leading by a mere three percentage points. The poll appeared one day after it was revealed that Smith had outraised Casey in individual donations, $1.6 million to $1.5 million. On top of that, Smith, a millionaire who is self-funding, had loaned another $10 million to his campaign. ... But Casey, who has held few campaign events and run even fewer ads over the campaign, suddenly kicked into gear last week. His campaign began running a new ad, and he held what the Allentown Morning Call described as a 'rare campaign event' in a campaign that 'has kept a low-key, almost nonexistent public profile.'" | 4.) Romney-Biden 4 life -- And it came to pass that on the 6th of November in the year two thousand twelve, Mitt Romney was elected president and Joe Biden was elected vice president. This may not just be a fantasy (nightmare?), it could actually happen if the race ends in an electoral tie of 269 to 269. TheDC's Will Rahn reports:
"If Romney and Obama were to each get 269 votes in the Electoral College, the House would handle the selection of the president, while the Senate would choose the Vice President. The House would give each state delegation one vote, meaning that if a state has more Republican representatives than Democratic ones, then Romney would likely win that state. This is good news for Romney, as the GOP is still expected to control a majority of state delegations after Election Day. But, if we expect the Senate to remain under Democratic control, this could also be good news for Joe Biden. The Senate picks the vice president in an electoral tie, and could be persuaded to put in their old friend Joe even if Romney winds up in the White House."
Perhaps this is what the Mayans had in mind when they predicted 2012 would mark the end of the world. | 5.)
